Allergen management: How we make our FREE FROM claims

The lengths we go to make sure our growing up drink is free from 6 major allergens: milk, egg, gluten, soya, peanuts and tree nuts.

1: Our recipe and ingredients

Our recipe doesn’t use any ingredients containing the allergens that we’re free from. We work with a team of experts to ensure every sip of Grow with Iris meets the highest standards in food quality and safety.

2: Our factory

We only produce in a factory which we have personally visited and approved – with the help of expert risk managers in allergen and hygiene control. Our factory partners have the very high standards of control which Grow with Iris needs. This ensures our products are safe for little ones and assured free from milk, egg, gluten, soya, peanuts and tree nuts.

3: Manufacturing

We take three crucial steps when manufacturing Grow with Iris:

• First of all, we make sure our raw ingredients are safe. Our manufacturer checks each batch of raw materials to confirm they are safe and suitable to use for Grow with Iris. By using both food safety and allergens test data from the ingredient suppliers and taking our own samples to re-check for allergen presence, they can be assured that each ingredient batch used in Grow with Iris is safe to use and free from the 6 allergens.

> The results are reviewed before we will accept any raw material batches for use in our production.

• Next, we have the physical production itself. Here, the production area and all equipment undergoes a specific cleaning process and is then swabbed to check for allergens before we can start blending. Samples of our blended product are taken throughout the production to confirm there’s no allergen cross-contamination – and this involves a number of test points – not just one or two!

> These results are reviewed before we accept the blended product meets our high standards and can start packing.

• Our final step in allergen control assurance is to carry out pre-packing and post-packing allergen and food safety testing, to make sure we can ‘positively release’ each batch to go in little mouths!
